The differences that matter

• No account, no quota. OpenSubtitles limits downloads per day for guests and sells VIP for more. Here every download is one click for everyone.
• Credit first. Every file keeps the translator, syncer and team lines from inside the file and from the upload form. Identities imported from other sites can be claimed by their owners.
• Match by fingerprint in the browser. Drop your video on the Match page; the hash is computed locally and nothing is uploaded.
• Human and machine work never share a list. Machine translated files sit in their own section, labelled.
• Open source. The whole site is public under the AGPL-3.0, with a free API and RSS feeds, so tools like Bazarr and Kodi can use it without a key.

What OpenSubtitles has that we do not

Twenty years of files in many languages, an established player integration in VLC and Kodi, and a large moderation team. We are younger and smaller; the archive grows every day from the Subscene final dump, from new uploads and from the communities that join.
