“Parasite” is one of the most commercially successful movies in 2019. According to the information, this movie-making cost was only 11.4 Million Us dollars; in contrast, this movie earns almost 264.4 million. Bong Joon-ho is an eminent South Korean director who directed this stirring black comedy thriller film. The star casts of this movie are Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-Kyun, Cho Yeo-Jeong, Choi Woo-Shik, Park So-dam, Jang Hye-jin, and Lee Jung-Eun. In this article, I am going to write about some hidden messages from the Parasite movie.
The parasite is the first South Korean movie to win an Oscar and the first foreign-language movie to win the Academy Award for the best picture. In South Korea history, Parasite is the first movie nominated for the Academy Award and wins. The international features become the first no-English language movie to cross over into major categories like the picture, director, and original screenplay. But you know there are many things which make this film the best. I am trying to discuss some facts which are portrayed in this Oscar-winning film.
It is a pervasive fact in our present society, and that’s Rich and poor inequality. In the Parasite movie, this topic has been very beautifully painted. This movie showed a finger in the eye that there are differences between a poor man’s life journey and a rich man’s life journey in our society. Undoubtedly it is a social awareness message for the people of the world.
Most people assume that the title Parasite is a metaphor for the poor Kim family and the rich Park family. After all, the Kims family infiltrate Parks’ home Very cleverly. However, the director revealed how the poor infiltrate the rich like a leech and live like parasites. It could be said; the director successfully revealed that the word “parasite” has a double meaning.
In the film, the Park family’s son Da-song’s impassioned interest in Indians is shown. However, this is a major hint to the ironic message in Parasite: that the long, complicated history of Native Americans has been reduced to a child’s hobby with little meaning. In fact, this cleverly mirrors the present happening things of our society.
One of the most prominent comparisons of Parasites is the different lives the two families lead. While the Parks worry about making their son happy and trying to cure his restlessness, on the other hand, Kims are struggling to make ends meet with the meager income they have. On the night of a terrible rainstorm, Parks Family have to cancel a camping trip due to the rainstorm, and they become very disappointed, while the Kims family lose their home to the flood triggered by the storm. And this most ironic theme leaves an impression on all viewers.
I think it is one of the most important lessons from the movie Parasite, never believe anyone too fast. It will be harmful to you in many ways, as in the case of the Park family. Park’s wife, Yeon-Kyo, believes people too soon without knowing their background. At the end of the result, Park’s family is destroyed. If you watched the Parasite Movie, please remember about this point that never belive anyone too fast.
